GENERAL CLASS INFORMATION **IF YOUR DOG IS REACTIVE TOWARDS OTHER DOGS OR SHOWING NERVOUS OR ANXIOUS BEHAVIOUR THEN PLEASE CALL US BEFORE BOOKING AS THIS COURSE MAY NOT BE SUITABLE.** We are offering customers who wish to attend our 'Terrible Teens' class the opportunity to do exercises from The Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme Bronze Award with an optional assessment at the end of the course for anyone that wishes to do it. During this course, owners will learn how to teach their dogs to: - Walk in a controlled manner on a loose lead around other dogs and people. - Learn basic impluse control - Not jump up on people - Stay in one position on cue for 1 minute - Be comfortable with being groomed and handled for health checks. - Come when called (recall) - Wait at a door/gate and walk through in a controlled manner. ...and more! The Bronze Good Citizen Award aims to provide the handlers with a basic knowledge of understanding and training their canine companion. ELIGIBILITY FOR BRONZE ASSESSMENT (optional) The Scheme is aimed at all dogs whether Kennel Club registered or not, there is no age limit. For the Bronze Test, dogs are not required to have completed the Puppy Foundation Assessment programme. Handlers must show that they have means of cleaning up after their dog and that it has proper identification. It is a legal requirement to inscribe the name and the address of the owner on the collar or on a plate or disc attached to it. Engraved tags can be purchased from the Kennel Club website. With effect from the 6th April 2016 dogs are required to have a microchip which is registered on a Defra approved database, in the UK (check exemptions). Our What 3 Words location is https://w3w.co/oddly.firebird.also ADVERSE WEATHER All of our adult dog training classes take place outside and with the British weather being what it is, this occasionally means a class may be postponed in extreme weather conditions e.g. heavy rain, gales, snow or high temperatures. Any postponed lesson will resume as normal the following week which may mean your course runs past its original end date. We will always do our best to run lessons as scheduled to minimise any disruption to your course dates but the safety of our customers and staff has to be our priority.
COVID 19 IMPORTANT INFORMATION In the event of the introduction of a national or local lockdown all payments taken for 1:1 training, training classes or behaviour consulatations will either become a credit on your file or they will continue in an appropriate online format. No refunds will be given but every option will be explored to ensure learning continues for you and your dog safely and in line with your original training goals. TRAINING CLASSES You can cancel your place at any class 2 weeks prior to the start of class and a full refund will be given. Cancellations 1 week until start of class will be given 50% refund and any cancellations after this date no refund will be offered. This will only be reviewed in exceptional circumstances. All classes will be honoured but please note that COVID-19 government restrictions may result in a delay. 1:1 SESSIONS Once booked these sessions can be cancelled two weeks before training package commences and receive a full refund. Cancellations 1 week before training session commences receive a 50% refund and no refunds are given for cancellations after this time except in exceptional circumstances and prior written agreement. All 1:1 Dog Training Packages must be completed within a 6-month period except upon prior written agreement. MASTERCLASSES Once booked these sessions can be cancelled two weeks before Masterclass commences and receive a full refund. Cancellations 1 week before Masterclass commences receive a 50% refund and no refunds are given for cancellations after this time except in exceptional circumstances and prior written agreement. A client can reschedule a Masterclass only once and up to 48 hrs before the Masterclass commences.
