Service Description
Handler Skills Great dog training starts with great handling skills. This workshop is designed to help handlers improve their communication, timing, and training techniques, giving both you and your dog the tools to learn more effectively and work together as a team. Throughout the session, we will explore the foundations of successful training, including how to use leads and long lines effectively, the importance of reward placement and timing, and how your handling choices can influence your dog's behaviour and understanding. We will also cover three key training techniques: Luring: Using food or toys to guide your dog into desired positions and behaviours while learning when and how to fade the lure effectively. Capturing: Recognising and rewarding naturally offered behaviours to encourage your dog to repeat them. Shaping: Breaking behaviours down into small achievable steps and rewarding successive approximations to build new skills and encourage problem-solving. This practical, hands-on workshop will help you develop better observation skills, improve your timing and mechanics, and gain confidence in using a variety of positive reinforcement techniques. Whether you're new to training or looking to refine your skills, you'll leave with a greater understanding of how dogs learn and how to become a clearer, more effective handler.

Cancellation Policy
CANCELLATION POLICY • Any online booking may be cancelled within a 14-day cooling off period and receive a full refund. • Cancellations made after the 14-day cooling off period are subject to a cancellation fee. • Cancellations made more than a week before the initial consultation appointment (and after the cooling off period) will be charged £10 cancellation fee. • Cancellations made within 7 days prior to the start of the course or class (and after the cooling off period) will be charged £30 cancellation fee. • Cancellations made within 24 hours prior to the start of the course or class (and after the cooling off period) WILL NOT be eligible for a refund. • Any cancellation fee will be deducted before refunding the balance. • No partial refunds will be given once a course has started. • Only in the most exceptional circumstances will these policies be reconsidered. If we have to cancel an entire class or course, you will receive a full refund OR be offered and alternative class or course. If we have to re-arrange a session within a class or course due to weather, staff illness, emergency situation etc, we will offer you an alternative date. WE DO NOT GIVE PRO RATA REFUNDS IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND THE ALTERNATIVE OPTION.
